What is NINC?
NINC is a nonprofit organization which focuses on networking, education, and advocacy for professional authors of book-length fiction. Based in the US, we welcome members from all over the world. (source: NINC website, About page)

What is the Theme for 2024?
This year the conference moves it’s focus to balance. Multi-published authors wear many hats and the stress of never really finishing that “to-do” list or implementing “all the things” can lead to burnout.

What is the NINC conference?
The NINC conference includes-published authors in traditional, indie or hybrid publishing, industry professionals and guest speakers for a unique networking experience and many high-level professional workshops.

Three Takeaways:

Authors are using AI to do simple research always asking for the source of information to be included for fact-checking.
Authors using unique editions, crowd-funding and exclusive bundles are finding success.

NINC Beachside Blowout Buffet

We had a lovely, or part of a lovely, meal at sunset at the beach on the final day of the NINC: Balance 2024 conference. But those pesky dark clouds swept in from the east. “Is that a rainstorm?” asked one of my tablemates.

“Grab the coconut cake and run,” I said.

Most of us made it to cover. Three decided they had time. I left them with the caution that they had about five minutes. I was wrong. The downpour started in four!
