What I'm Reading
I love reading romance, of course. Paranormal, suspense and historical are my favorites with contemporary romance fiction sprinkled in.
I do read a tremendous amount of romance fiction. But that isn’t all I read. If you’d like to see what I’m reading right now, you can follow me on GoodReads. I’ll admit my current devices list an eclectic collection. What exactly? Well…
...Here's my current non-romance reading list...
READING in HARDCOVER:
Obsidio- Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff.
I love YA, Young Adult, and am completely caught up with the Illuminae, Gemina and Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. These huge, heavy hardcover books combines email, messages, texts, transcripts, video analysis reports and graphics as a very clever way to tell super suspenseful stories. I've read the first two and was out before release day to get the third.
LISTENING on AUDIBLE
Under Different Stars - Amy A. Bartol's
Another YA that I very much enjoyed was Amy A. Bartol's Kricket series, Under Different Stars #1, Sea of Stars #2 and Darken the Stars #3. I disagree with many of the critics about the ending of the series and think it was surprising and perfect! (no spoiler here). I listened to this series on Audible and the narrator was wonderful! Okay, I admit it, I listened to this series twice!!
Sleeping Beauties - Stephen King and Owen King
I read horror and thrillers. My two latest was Stephen King and Owen King's Sleeping Beauties which was not surprisingly disturbing. But no nightmares yet!
The Survivor - Vince Flynn's
I have a new author (no me) . The story is engrossing but perhaps a little difficult for me to follow. This maybe mostly do to me listening to this story at night before bed and since I don't hear the narrator stop with the sleep timer, I am doing a lot of backtracking!
READING on KINDLE
The Boy on the Bridge - M. R. Carey
I haven't started this yet, but loved The Girl With All The Gifts. They made that one into a movie so fast that it made my head spin. The minute I read it, I knew they would.
Dead Men Do Tell Tales - William. Maples & Michael Browning
This one I am reading as research as I am considering an anthropologist as a lead character. This is non-fiction and is a fascinating and horrifying journey through the types of cases seen by Dr. Maples
5-Minute Book Marketing -Penny Sansevieri
A working writer has to keep up on best practices. This book is a fast read with lots of good information and tips for busy working writers.
The Boss's Fake Fiance - Susan Meier
Okay, you caught me. I'm reading one romance right now. Susan Meier's The Boss's Fake Fiance. This is a fun romp with forced togetherness in exotic locals. Riding along as the hero and heroine try to figure out what the other is thinking and feeling is pure bliss!
Up Close and Dangerous - Linda Howard
Next up after that is Linda Howard's newest, Up Close and Dangerous. What can I say, you had me at Linda Howard!
