This was my first Bouchercon, a World Mystery Conference, named after author Anthony Boucher, which draws writers of mystery, thriller and suspense genre and hundreds of fans.

I had tea with cozy mystery writer J.R. Ripley and drinks with thriller writer Andrew Welsh-Huggins and Joseph Reid and felt very lucky to get autographed books by both Ian Rankin and Karin Slaughter. I was thrilled to listen to panel discussions by Tim Dorsey, Karin Slaughter and Lisa Unger.

My “TBR” (To Be Read) pile is sky high and I need to get some of these wonderful stories into the hands of my VIP Readers. That’s why I’ll be running monthly giveaways. Please consider joining my VIPs so you can take part.

It was an honor to join the Romantic Suspense Panel with authors: Melissa Lenhardt, Lise McClendon, Jenna Kernan, Kerry Lonsdale and Kendra Elliiot. Our moderator, Stacy Allen, did a wonderful job moving the questions along and keeping the attendees engaged. My favorite part of the panel was the question and answer period where the fans get to ask whatever they like.

If you are a mystery fan, thriller fan or lover of suspense, this conference should definitely be on your list of events. Next year they are in Dallas and in 2020 they will be in Sacramento. I hope to see you there!
